The magnetite ore in Anshan is severely lean, but contains few harmful impurities, and the magnetite and gangue minerals have a simple symbiotic relationship, making them easy to separate. Based on the unique characteristics of the local lean magnetite ore, technicians designed an advanced process flow: the crushing process uses a three-stage closed-circuit crushing system, and the separation process employs a staged grinding-magnetic separation process. A magnetic pulley is used for pre-concentration of the ball mill feed, increasing the grade of the mill feed by 2%, and achieving a magnetic iron recovery rate of 99%. The concentrate from the first stage of magnetic separation undergoes secondary classification and secondary grinding. The concentrate from the secondary magnetic separation is then subjected to fine screening, with the oversized material returned to the second-stage ball mill. Because the feed particle size for the three-stage magnetic separation is strictly controlled, the degree of mineral liberation is improved, resulting in a higher final concentrate grade and meeting the required specifications. After the plant went into production, the equipment operated smoothly, production efficiency was high, and economic benefits were significant, receiving positive feedback from the client.
